January 2017

"For last year's words belong to last year's language and next year's words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning." --T.S. Eliot

This Past December:

We hope that everyone had a fantastic holiday, full of family, friends, food and many happy memories. Everything came together wonderfully for the Holiday Programs. Thank you again to all the students, teachers and parents for their hard work!

This December, Ms. Erin's students focused on seasons, while Ms. Malini's children learned the difference between hot and cold. Ms. Anjali's children discussed table manners, Ms. Tisha's class studied holidays, and Ms. Rubina's children visited South America. Ms. Crystal's class made candy cane cookies and Ms. Allison's kids learned about the parts of a leaf. Ms. Denise's students enjoyed playing the dreidel game as they learned about Hanukkah and Ms. Ali's class learned about different winter festivals.

We hope the upcoming year is joyful for you and your family! Happy 2017!

Why the Montessori Method?

Encouragement

Of all the gifts that we receive in life, encouragement seems to be one of the greatest. It often makes the difference between failure and success, between giving up and pushing through. The simplest words of encouragement may seem small, but this kind of attention enables children to learn with confidence in their own innate potential. And once they have that kind of confidence they can continue learning and mastering without comparison and competition with their peers.
