"Nothing you do for children is ever wasted. They seem not to notice us, hovering, averting our eyes, and they seldom offer thanks, but what we do for them is never wasted."
-- Garrison Keillor

This Past February...

The most exciting day of the month and probably the whole year, was our snow day! The students had an amazing time playing outside throwing snowballs and catching snowflakes in their mouths. We also had a wonderful time at our Valentine's Day Party. Thank you to everyone for all the treats and little gifts that were given. The children enjoyed all of them! The students learned about teeth and the circulatory system. The importance of brushing their teeth was stressed and what happens when a tooth is lost. Another big event we had this past month was celebrating the Chinese New Year. We had so much fun wearing red and eating tasty red treats. We would also like to give a special thank you to Caroline's mom, Ms. Heath, for her special presentation on China in building 1905.

Upcoming March Events...

March 15th - 19th -- Spring Break

What better way to celebrate the coming of spring than spending quality time with family and friends. If you plan on taking a vacation we wish you wonderful memories and safe returns, and for those staying home we wish you a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

March 12th -- Green Day

Since St. Patrick's Day falls during spring break, let's celebrate the holiday a little early by wearing green, bringing a green show and tell, and some green food in our lunch boxes. We will learn about four leaf clovers, leprechauns, pots of gold and all things Irish.

Why the Montessori Method?...

There are few things that come more naturally to children than the desire to discover and explore. It is part of what defines us as human beings. It is what motivates us to cross oceans and race into space, and what drives us to become artists and scientists and teachers. In a Montessori environment we encourage this natural ability to discover, and foster opportunities where students are able to follow their interests down a multitude of paths. Confidence is achieved when students learn that their passion for discovery will translate into accomplishment.
