January 2011

This Past December...

We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday, full of family, friends, food and many happy memories. Everything came together so beautifully for the big Holiday Program. We really enjoyed the students and teachers hard work this year!

Ms. Ali’s class learned about Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali, Eid, and Kwanzza. Festivals and Holidays were discussed in Ms. Meena’s class. Ms. Malini’s students learned about the Festival of Lights. Arctic animals were one of the many topics learned in Ms. Joan’s class. Ms. Denise’s students enjoyed playing the dreydel game and learning the 50 states. The origination of Holidays was taught by Ms. Sunita.

Why the Montessori Method?...

Of all the gifts that we receive in life, encouragement seems to be one of the greatest. It often makes the difference between failure and success, between giving up and pushing through. The simplest words of encouragement may seem small, but this kind of attention enables children to learn joyfully with confidence in their own innate potential. And once they have that kind of confidence they can continue learning and mastering without comparison and competition with their peers.
