April 2011

This Past Month...

Ms. Ali’s class has been learning about the exciting life cycle of the butterfly, Ireland, and how magnets work. Ms. Denise’s class studied Australia and Ireland. The History of St. Patrick’s Day and Spain were the topics of discussion in Ms. Sunita’s class. Also, these 3 classes have been preparing for the upcoming Science Fair. Ms. Malini’s class learned about the parts of a flower and Ms. Meena’s class read up on Dr. Seuss in honor of his birthday. As Ms. Joan’s class transitioned to Ms. Sharika’s class, they learned about the state of Texas.

Why the Montessori Method?...

Encouragement

Of all the gifts that we receive in life, encouragement seems to be one of the greatest. It often makes the difference between failure and success, between giving up and pushing through. The simplest words of encouragement may seem small, but this kind of attention enables children to learn joyfully with confidence in their own innate potential. And once they have that kind of confidence they can continue learning and mastering without comparison and competition with their peers.
