This Past Month...

From splash day to ball day, we had so much fun on Fridays this past month! Ms. Ali’s class studied Canada and explored rocks and minerals. Ms. Denise’s class conducted water experiments and learned about their 5 senses. Ms. Sunita’s class discussed places to live and studied Brazil. Mountains were explored in Ms. Sharika’s class along with the uses of water. Ms. Malini’s class learned about our community and talked about summer. Independence Day was celebrated in Ms. Jackie’s class and they practiced washing their hands. Ms. Ali, Ms, Denise, and Ms. Sunita’s classes did a great job reading all those books The final results will be announced in the next newsletter so stay tuned.

Maria Montessori was born in Italy on August 31, 1870 and was the first woman in Italy to receive a medical degree.  A world-renowned physician, educator, philosopher, humanitarian, and pioneer; she is best remembered as the founder of the Montessori Method of education which encourages all children to develop their own skills at a pace they set. She believed that education should not only impart knowledge but also seek to unlock human potential. Her philosophy has been used successfully across cultures and economic classes throughout the world.
