"Nothing you do for children is ever wasted. They seem not to notice us, hovering, averting our eyes, and they seldom offer thanks, but what we do for them is never wasted."
-- Garrison Keillor

This Past February...

We had a wonderful time at our Valentine's Day Party! Thank you to all of the parents and teachers for your help. The children also enjoyed a dentistry presentation and received goodie bags. Ms. Ali's class studied President's Day and learned about teeth. Ms. Denise's students discovered the diet of a black bear and learned about omnivores. Ms. Sunita's class was treated to a wonderful presentation on Black History Month by Michele Scott, Elijah's mom, while heart patterns were created in Ms. Sharika's class. The students in Ms. Jackie's class practiced writing the letter "k" and Ms. Malini's class talked about the meaning of friendship and community.

Upcoming March Events...

Green Day - Friday, March 9th

Since St. Patrick's Day falls during spring break, let's celebrate the holiday a little early by wearing green, bringing a green show and tell, and some green food in our lunch boxes. We will learn about four leaf clovers, leprechauns, pots of gold and all things Irish.

Why the Montessori Method?...

Discovery

There are few things that come more naturally to children than the desire to discover and explore. It is part of what defines us as human beings. It is what motivates us to cross oceans and race into space, and what drives us to become artists and scientists and teachers. In a Montessori environment we encourage this natural ability to discover, and foster opportunities where students are able to follow their interests down a multitude of paths. Confidence is achieved when students learn that their passion for discovery will translate into accomplishment.
