July 2012

"Those who won our independence believed liberty to be the secret of happiness and courage to be the secret of liberty."
-- Louis D. Brandeis

This Past June:

June marked the start of our summer season and we had plenty of activities to celebrate. We started the month with our Pajama Day, which was a cuddly, fun time. Then, we kicked off summer with a hot dog cookout. Transportation was one of the many topics discussed in Ms. Malini's class. Ms. Erin's class painted apples and Ms. Sharika's children learned about photosynthesis. We ended the month with a few celebration shows! Ms. Ali, Ms. Denise, and Ms. Sunita's classes worked very hard and did an amazing job with their 4th of July performances.

Independence Day

Independence Day is more than a chance for family and friends throughout the country to gather for barbecues and fireworks display; it is an annual celebration to commemorate the courage and faith of our founding fathers in their pursuit of liberty. We hope that everyone enjoys their holiday with friends and family and we look forward to your safe return!

Summer Reading Contest

Last year the children together read more than 1,000 books! This year buildings 1903 and 1905 will challenge their children to read even more books. The contest will officially end on Friday August 3rd. Good luck, students!

Why the Montessori Method?...

Meeting the Needs of Your Child

The Montessori Method is a hands-on, prepared environment that is always growing at a child's own pace. A Montessori environment is an attempt, in an orderly fashion, to meet the multiple needs of each child and the needs of different types of children. Educating children in an atmosphere where their need for time, space, support, and stimulation can be met is just one of the many benefits of the Montessori Method.
