April 2016

This Past Month:

In March Ms. Ali's class spent time learning about the inspiring life of Helen Keller. Ms. Denise's class enjoyed their unit on Australia and New Zealand, while Ms. Crystal's class celebrated St. Patrick's Day with a unit on Ireland. Ms. Tamara's students practiced number recognition and Ms. Rubina's children learned the parts of a tree. Ms. Sunita's students had a lot of fun discovering the difference between floating and sinking and Ms. Tisha's class had a wonderful unit on Dr. Seuss. Ms. Erin's children talked about the change of the weather, and Ms. Malini's class practiced making bubbles. All of the classes had a great time at the Easter Egg Hunt!

Why the Montessori Method?

Of all the gifts that we receive in life, encouragement seems to be one of the greatest. It often makes the difference between failure and success, between giving up and pushing through. The simplest words of encouragement may seem small, but this kind of attention enables children to learn joyfully with confidence in their own innate potential. And once they have that kind of confidence they can continue learning and mastering without comparison and competition with their peers.
