"Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body."

Happy Mother's Day!

This Past Month:

In April, Ms. Ali's and Ms. Denise's young scientists worked very hard to prepare for the Annual Science Fair! They are excited to share their discoveries with their parents, friends, and fellow Austin scientists. Ms. Crystal's class enjoyed their unit on Russia and Ms. Tamara's students had fun sharing baby photos to learn about growth. Ms. Rubina's class discussed the parts of a butterfly, Ms. Sunita's class grew a bean plant and Ms. Tisa's students explored Canada. Ms. Erin's class focused on books, while germination was discussed in Ms. Malini's class.

Upcoming May Events:

  • Sunday, May 8th: Mother's Day
  • Mother's Day is a time of commemoration and celebration for moms, and we hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday full of good food and memories. We will be spending time in all our classes discussing and giving thanks for everything mothers do for us.

  • Monday, May 30th: Memorial Day
  • This day is set aside to commemorate and honor the U.S. men and women who lost their lives serving our country.

Why the Montessori Method?

Hands On

The 'Hands On' method is distinctive to Montessori education, and one of the primary reasons it has been so successful. 'Hands On' is the active employment of all senses focused on achieving a particular goal. We believe that we should not stubbornly fight against a child's natural desire to experience the world tactilely, but rather use this desire to improve muscular development, hand-eye coordination, organization, processing, and concentration.
